What is involved in an Ayurvedic consultation?

Your Ayurvedic consultation will take an in-depth history of your past medical conditions, diet, lifestyle, family history and other aspects of your wellbeing such as sleep and daily routine. Your vital signs will be taken (blood pressure, pulse). A number of traditional physical examination techniques will also be used as appropriate such as tongue and pulse diagnosis. These will all help to develop a working diagnosis and help develop a treatment plan including dietary and lifestyle changes as well as herbal preparations.

How should I prepare for an Ayurvedic health consultation?

It is advised that you do not have any caffeine or a heavy meal just before your appointment as these can both impact the ability to accurately carry out the tongue and pulse diagnosis.

How long does an Ayurvedic health consultation last?

An initial health consultation lasts approximately 90 minutes. You will be sent a consent form and some questions to complete and return to the practitioner before the appointment. Follow-up appointments last around 30 minutes.

When is the best time to book an appointment for an Ayurvedic health consultation?

You will noitce that all the available appointments are in the morning time. This is because in most cases, people are rested in the morning, are less likely to have had caffeine yet or anything else that can impact their pulse reading too much.
