Resistance as a root cause

There are two parts of the consultation that I notice people enjoy the most. The first is when we do the pulse diagnosis and we find out what the imbalances of the doshas are. And the second part is when we go on to talking about herbs.

We're human so we make sense of the world through coding and categorising patterns. So it makes sense then that people like to hear about personality types and tendencies. And unfortunately, we've become used to the “pill for every ill” type of mentality. We've transferred that thinking over to herbs too, thinking they can fix our symptoms.

But where I see a bit of a sticking point or resistance is where I think we need to be placing more of our attention. It's in those everyday little things that we do - a slight change to our routine, the time we go to bed, the time we take our meals, five minutes to do some breathing exercises - just changing things up a little bit.

We can become really attached to the way that we do things but if we want to see change, sometimes that's where we need to start.

We can't expect herbs to do the heavy lifting when the approach is meant to be multidimensional.

What's your sticking point?
